BB Creams Review: THE FACE SHOP "FACE IT" MAGIC COVER BB CREAM

Hello Kikay readers out there!  It's meeh again, experimenting and going through to discover what is the best BB Cream for me to have that Photo Finish-Flawless looking skin. *_*

If you have read my post the last time about a certain BB Cream, you'll pretty have an idea what is BB Cream all about.

I happen to stroll on SM North The Block and I accidentally saw a Korean stall "THE FACE SHOP", where in a saw a poster of a very beautiful Korean model (sorry I forgot the name) and again, I must admit, it took my full attention --- I literally stopped, stare and eventually was convinced to get inside the stall having that high hopes.

Now since I am a BB Fanatic, I immediately headed on the BB Cream section and asked the saleslady what is the best BB Cream for a combination skin (I have an oily on the T-zone-dry patches on some parts of the skin), and they gave me this:

The Face Shop "Face It" Magic Cover in Natural Beige 45ml- Php 1,100.00

I immediately purchased this one, and tried it myself:

Sample swatch without a camera flash (My apologies for the blurred picture because of a low-light setting)

I just noticed, I got the Natural Beige shade, which is a wrong move. I should have chosen a shade lighter than mine, for usually, when the cream oxidizes, it will turn out a bit darker than how it is seen on the sample swatch.  Anyways, I still proceeded with my kikay stuff :p

This is how my skin looks like without any BB Cream:

Now this is how my skin looked like after applying the BB Cream:

BB Cream after applying (and has oxidized) on my face - noticed it's a bit darker/had a gray cast

BB Cream after I tried applying a pat of face powder

My kikayholic verdict: (Based on my personal experience)

COVERAGE: It gives medium to heavy coverage. Surprisingly it hides all of my marks and dark spots even my stubborn pimples. After a few minutes of application, it oxidizes but doesn't blend on my skin tone that much (perhaps because I got a wrong/darker shade for my skin tone). Result is, it gives a grayish cast.  It has SPF 20 as a sunscreen protection.

CONSISTENCY: The cream is somehow a bit of a creamy beige cream base, a bit hard and heavy to spread with bare hands. I guess, using a stippling brush is the best option for this.

SCENT: It has a strong scent (which for me, it doesn't work).

OIL CONTROL: I just need to put some blotting paper over my face once in a while. It doesn't break me out.
Gives a matte, illuminating finish. I do not have to pat a face powder over it all throughout the day and stays a matte finish for longer hours. Aja!

LENGTH OF TIME IT HOLDS: Holds 12 up to 16 hrs on my face. Impressing!

PRICE: Relatively expensive compared to other BB creams.

All-in-all, I will rate it as 3.8 over 5. But, I will have a second thought buying this BB cream again because of the following reasons: a bit expensive, strong scent, hard to spread and a heavy feeling when applied over the face. Likewise, when I   tried applying a face powder over it on other days, I saw small white cakey flakes over my face after a few hours (maybe because of my type of skin).  But then, if you want to have a great coverage and a matte finish, this one is surely a hit! ^_^

'Til then!

    1. I might say yes, for simple sweating. Not under a heavy rain.
