BB Creams Review: TONY MOLY 3D EXPERT COLLAGEN BB CREAM

This is my third attempt to review a BB Cream. ^_^

My husband has been telling me about his office colleague who buys stuff at TONY MOLY... and I, being a fashionista, was very eager to know what/where is this store!  I happen to see it (again) at SM North. So, here am I, finding myself looking and heading to the store.  And guess what?  Because of the phenomenal BB Cream. Yay!

A Triple Function Cosmetic: Whitening + Anti-Wrinkle + UV Ray Protection
Contains Golden Peptide which has excellent synthesizing capability, provides elasticity to the skin and makes the skin smooth with no uneven skin texture by filling in wrinkles.

This BB Cream has the following features:
-SPF 40, PA +++(Sunscreen protection)
-Contains collagen, which benefits the skin.
-Anti-wrinkle
-Whitening
-Mild Lavender Scent

I tried applying a sample swatch on my arm to see it's shade:

Now, after applying it on my face with a few pat of face powder:

After a whole day of work:

My kikayholic verdict: (Based on my personal experience)

COVERAGE: It gives medium to heavy coverage. It hides almost all my marks and dark spots except for some of my stubborn pimples. After a few minutes of application, it oxidizes and blends on my skin tone evenly. It doesn't gives a grayish cast.

CONSISTENCY: The cream is somehow a bit of between watery and creamy beige base, moderately spreadable with bare hands. But it was very hard to determine what will be the proper amount to put because it looks sheer when applied.  To avoid overdoing it, I suggest to use a stippling brush and "stipple it" for a flawless finish.

SCENT: It has a mild sweet lavender scent and becomes odorless in time.

OIL CONTROL: I need to put a lot of blotting paper over my face a least every 2 to 3 hours, especially when it is hot, perhaps because it was designed for a sheer/dewy finish. Perhaps it doesn't fit my skin type because of my oily/combination skin. It doesn't break me out.

I just discover, I just have to pat a face powder/apply a mineral powder over it after oxidizing to secure that matte finish for longer hours (I prefer matte finish).

LENGTH OF TIME IT HOLDS: Holds 8 up to 10 hrs on my face.

PRICE: Expensive compared to other BB creams. (Php 1,295.00)

All-in-all, I will rate it as 4.4 over 5. I will definitely be buying this BB cream which is good for everyday use and even for special occasions. What I like most about it, is that it gives a natural glow. But if you are not a fan of a dewy finish, this one is not the best for you, although you may opt to put a face powder or a mineral powder using a Kabuki brush (the latter is the best).

'Til my next post kikays!

BB Creams Review: THE FACE SHOP "FACE IT" MAGIC COVER BB CREAM

Hello Kikay readers out there!  It's meeh again, experimenting and going through to discover what is the best BB Cream for me to have that Photo Finish-Flawless looking skin. *_*

If you have read my post the last time about a certain BB Cream, you'll pretty have an idea what is BB Cream all about.

I happen to stroll on SM North The Block and I accidentally saw a Korean stall "THE FACE SHOP", where in a saw a poster of a very beautiful Korean model (sorry I forgot the name) and again, I must admit, it took my full attention --- I literally stopped, stare and eventually was convinced to get inside the stall having that high hopes.

Now since I am a BB Fanatic, I immediately headed on the BB Cream section and asked the saleslady what is the best BB Cream for a combination skin (I have an oily on the T-zone-dry patches on some parts of the skin), and they gave me this:

The Face Shop "Face It" Magic Cover in Natural Beige 45ml- Php 1,100.00

I immediately purchased this one, and tried it myself:

Sample swatch without a camera flash (My apologies for the blurred picture because of a low-light setting)

I just noticed, I got the Natural Beige shade, which is a wrong move. I should have chosen a shade lighter than mine, for usually, when the cream oxidizes, it will turn out a bit darker than how it is seen on the sample swatch.  Anyways, I still proceeded with my kikay stuff :p

This is how my skin looks like without any BB Cream:

Now this is how my skin looked like after applying the BB Cream:

BB Cream after applying (and has oxidized) on my face - noticed it's a bit darker/had a gray cast

BB Cream after I tried applying a pat of face powder

My kikayholic verdict: (Based on my personal experience)

COVERAGE: It gives medium to heavy coverage. Surprisingly it hides all of my marks and dark spots even my stubborn pimples. After a few minutes of application, it oxidizes but doesn't blend on my skin tone that much (perhaps because I got a wrong/darker shade for my skin tone). Result is, it gives a grayish cast.  It has SPF 20 as a sunscreen protection.

CONSISTENCY: The cream is somehow a bit of a creamy beige cream base, a bit hard and heavy to spread with bare hands. I guess, using a stippling brush is the best option for this.

SCENT: It has a strong scent (which for me, it doesn't work).

OIL CONTROL: I just need to put some blotting paper over my face once in a while. It doesn't break me out.
Gives a matte, illuminating finish. I do not have to pat a face powder over it all throughout the day and stays a matte finish for longer hours. Aja!

LENGTH OF TIME IT HOLDS: Holds 12 up to 16 hrs on my face. Impressing!

PRICE: Relatively expensive compared to other BB creams.

All-in-all, I will rate it as 3.8 over 5. But, I will have a second thought buying this BB cream again because of the following reasons: a bit expensive, strong scent, hard to spread and a heavy feeling when applied over the face. Likewise, when I   tried applying a face powder over it on other days, I saw small white cakey flakes over my face after a few hours (maybe because of my type of skin).  But then, if you want to have a great coverage and a matte finish, this one is surely a hit! ^_^

'Til then!

BB Creams Review: L'OREAL PARIS LUCENT MAGIQUE BB CREAM

Just last year I discovered those so called trending BB creams and it caught my attention. I was a huge fan of one of the Korean actresses (I must admit that I am dying to have her flawless looking skin).  Yes, none other than Song Hye Kyo:

There you go, so in short, I starting looking for ways over the internet how to have those flawless looks.  Then I happen to stumble upon the beauty secrets of Koreans, which became undeniably phenomenal...BB CREAM or also known as Blemish or Beauty Balm.
BB CREAMS are far much better than foundations for they only not provide coverage; they are an "All in One" cream which basically includes sunscreen protection, moisturizer and some even have anti-aging cream...all in one cream.
That being said, it makes me wonder what are those beauty agents.

So then, I started trying to use different brands of BB creams that is fairly having good reviews but not that expensive.

My apologies but it actually took me more almost a year before I was able to write a review because of my busy schedule.  So let's begin:

L'OREAL LUCENT MAGIQUE BB CREAM:

I just purchased it recently and found out it was quite impressive.

It is sold Php 695.00 on stalls in SM malls as well as in some of the Watson's store.

Product description (30 ml - comes in one shade only)

This is the image of the swatch without flash:

You can notice when it was applied and after oxidizing it shows a soft sheen appearance already.

Now when applied on my face:

My kikayholic verdict: (Based on my personal experience)

COVERAGE: It gives little to medium coverage. It hides some of my marks and dark spots but not my few stubborn pimples. After a few minutes of application, it oxidizes and blends on my skin tone evenly. It doesn't gives a grayish cast.  It has SPF 20 as a sunscreen protection.

CONSISTENCY: The cream is somehow a bit of a watery white cream base, easily spreadable with bare hands.

SCENT: It has a mild powdery sweet scent.

OIL CONTROL: I just need to put some blotting paper over my face once in a while, which is tolerable for me. It doesn't break me out.
Gives a matte, a bit sheer and illuminating finish. But I have to pat a face powder over it in the middle of the day to secure that matte finish for longer hours.

LENGTH OF TIME IT HOLDS: Holds 6 up to 8 hrs on my face.

PRICE: Relatively cheap compared to other BB creams but not sacrificing the quality too much.

All-in-all, I will rate it as 4.0 over 5. I will definitely be buying this BB cream which is good for everyday use.  But if you want a great coverage and not a fan of matte finish, this one is not the best for you.

How about you? Have you tried their BB cream too?
