REVIEW: LAVISH LASHES Eyelash Extensions

Who doesn't want to have fuller, curly and longer eyelashes?

I was not granted by long lashes..in fact, I have a very short and thin lashes.  

And throughout my life, I always longed for those long, thick and curly lashes.  If you happen to see my make up kit, you can see tons of mascara.  But I guess mascaras really doesn't work with me all the time. Err, most of the time, especially when I am on a hurry in going to office.  I have to curl and put mascara and so, it consumes so much time to my daily routine.

But few years back, I was able to discover that there is a service called Eyelash Extensions. Sounds intimidating, for others, it seems to be a "Beki" or awkward act of beautifying yourself. But hey! Don't you know that I have been doing Eyelash Extensions for about 2 years now? ^_^

The key to enjoying these extensions is the habit of taking care of it and your lashes.

I guess I tried visiting a number of eyelash extension salons... but this salon is so far, THE BEST for me. :)

The process will start by having a facial wash. It is very important to have a clean eye area, to avoid any obstruction when putting up the extensions. It is suggested to come there with no mascaras or any make ups on your eye area. What I do is I usually go there after taking a bath (for you will not be allowed to put any water on your eye area for the next 24 hrs. 

Then after that your eyelashes will be assessed.  Mine is only 8 mm, so if you want to have your extensions, maximum of 2 mm longer is the recommended length. I tried using once (11 and 12 mm) which is more than the recommended length, and it falls off easily. Trust me. If you want a fuller extensions (for mascara effect or thicker than the glamour), it is suggested to be 1 mm longer only so your true lashes can carry the weight of these extensions. :)

Then the technician will put micropore tapes on your lower lashes and upper eyelids.  This is done to remove all possible obstructions while doing the process.

Each eyelash extensions is made of human hair which was individually glued to your existing lashes.  So it is very important to keep your eyes closed for your eyes will feel the sting of the glue. Usually it would take 30 to 40 minutes or up to 1 hr, depending on the preference you choose. On my case, I am always doing the Glamour Look.

So here is the final look after the process!

Isn't it so cute?  Now I don't have to worry about my eyelashes every morning. 

I love it!!!

AFTERCARE: 
1. Do not let your extensions get in contact with water 24 hours after the process.
2. Do not scratch your eyes all the time.
3. Do not put mascara on it.
4. Do not sleep on it (sleeping with pillow on top of the lashes). These lashes will fall off.
5. When washing your face, wash it gently especially on the eye part.
6. Brush carefully your eyelash extensions everyday with a clean mascara wand.
7. Do not pull off by yourself any lashes.  It will ruin your true lashes. Have the eyelash technician do it for you.

These eyelash extensions can last for 4 to 8 weeks, depending on how you religiously do your aftercare.

A TRIBUTE TO MY SENSITIVE WHITE SKIN

Dear Baby Skin,

For the past 34 years I have been so insensitive to you.  I used to let you go under the harmful rays of the sun unprotected, especially during my teenage years until the time that I was working as a preschool teacher. 

I am sorry for making you feel thirsty every time I go out.  I am sorry for keeping you irritated when I sleep at night without removing my make ups. I felt so sorry for those times of my life that you are bruised and was hurt. My apologies. I mean it. 

To be able to make up on all of these shortcomings, I have decided to revive you.  Year 2010, remember when I have started doing all of these four-step skin regimen? Cleansing/Exfoliating, Toning, Moisturizing and Protecting. Things started to change. You became happier.

As I age, you age also. I got frustrated when I started seeing dark spots and even fine lines.  That's the time that I really felt awful for myself and for not loving you. I hate myself. If I could only turn back the hands of time!!!

3. Eat lots of fruits and veggies: Okay, so timing that I am on a diet and I think this one works for me and also for you!  Papaya is my new fave! Yum!

4. Use sunscreen protection even indoors: It was suggested to me by your derma. Guess what? I am doing this for you. Mwah!

5. Moisturize all the time:  Even if you are oily. Oilyness doesn't mean that you don't need it. Moisturizing is your water.

Because of your urgent need for a rehydrating, I stumbled upon the net and found this:

Mascara Review: MAJOLICA MAJORCA LASH KING

This is one of my long due posts (my apologies I have been busy for the past few months) and I am glad I was able to write a review about it! Yay!

MAJOLICA MAJORCA is a Japanese brand that is a sister company of SHISEIDO. They offer a range of cosmetics and right now I am about to give my review for this raved mascara. *_*

They have variety of mascaras and unfortunately I was not able to purchase their best selling Lash Expander variant (it was out of stock that time). But I happen to stumble on the other variant which is claimed to be also one of their best selling...presenting MAJOLICA MAJORCA LASH KING:

As you can see, it has a bit of fibers and fine brushes to create great looking lashes!

This is how my lashes looks like without mascara (I just used FANNY SERRANO EYELASH CURLER here):

Now its time to put it on a test!

As you notice, I intentionally make my lashes a bit segmented by applying it in a zig-zag pattern because I only have few lashes (some of my lashes fall off because of lash extensions) to make it look thicker but you can always make it individual fine lashes ^_^

As you can see, the lashes are defined and becomes longer and thicker. Mind you, it lasts all-day, no smudges, no PANDA EYES, no clumping.

Other friends even gives me this compliment that I have been wearing lash extensions!  Teehee!

My kikay verdict? (1 to 10, 10 being the highest)

COST: 7 (it was way expensive than other mascaras and not everybody can afford to buy it especially if you are on a budget).


EFFECTIVENESS: 8 (It gives what you are paying for; it doesn't smudge; it gives curling effect; it thickens and lengthens my lashes)



STAYING POWER: 10 (It lasts all day; waterproof). 

I'm rating it 4.5 out of 5 total points. What I like about this product is that it doesn't smudge, no clumping, one to two coats is fair enough. But take note that IT WAS REALLY HARD TO REMOVE and you need to use the right make-up remover to be able to remove it with ease...or else you will end up ruining your own lashes.

In my case, I use POND's perfect care lemon cold cream:

But you can always use other oil-based make-up remover.

Will I purchase one again when I'm done with it?

The answer is DEFINITELY YES!

But I myself wanna try their bestselling LASH EXPANDER!
